The effects of age on antibody response towards COVID-19 vaccination: A Systematic Review

<p class="s9"><span class="s2">Background: </span><span class="s10">M</span><span class="s10">ortality rate class="s10">of COVID-19 infection is</span><span class="s10">exceptionally high in the older population</span><span class="s10">. Various vaccines are being rapidly developed as an attempt to halt pandemic. class="s10">Although vaccination has been effective reducing mortality and hospitalization rate</span><span class="s10"> recent months</span><span class="s10">, lower vaccine effectiveness reported among adults</span><span class="s10">.</span></p><p class="s2">Aim:</span><span This review aims class="s10">to class="s10">evaluate summarize current evidence on effect of age antibody response towards vaccines. </span></p><p class="s2">Methods:</span><span class="s10">Literature search class="s10">was conducted PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect ProQuest</span><span class="s10">for studies published up 9</span><span class="s11">th</span><span October 2022</span><span class="s10">The selected were assessed The Joanna Briggs critical appraisal tools.</span><span class="s10">Qualitative analysis was then performed for final studies.</span></p><p class="s2">Result:</span><span A 9 included this review. class="s10">A majority evaluated responses BNT162b2 or mRNA-1273 vaccine, while 1 study investigated class="s10">ChAdOx1 vaccine</span><span class="s10">Outcomes measured term IgG levels serum neutralization.</span><span Most demonstrated significantly neutralization class="s10">in adults compared younger vaccinees after administration first second dose.
